Terms of Service.
The rules for using this website and for buying our pastries. Last updated .
Who you are agreeing with
Belvedere Cookies is a sole-proprietor bakery based in Brentwood, Los Angeles, California, United States. In these terms, "we", "us", and "our" mean Belvedere Cookies. "You" means anyone visiting belvederecookies.com or buying our pastries.
Using the site
You may read the site, share its content, subscribe to the newsletter, and write to us. You may not scrape it, mass-download it, attempt to bypass security, attack other visitors, send unsolicited commercial messages, or impersonate us or anyone else. We may, without notice, block IP addresses or accounts that misuse the site.
Privacy and optional analytics
Your optional analytics choice is separate from these terms and from newsletter subscriptions. You can reject analytics and still browse, contact us and place orders.
Newsletter
The newsletter is sent at most once a week. Subscribing uses double opt-in, meaning we email you a confirmation link before any further messages. Every letter has a one-click unsubscribe.
Pastries: orders, pickups, allergens
We sell cookies and baked goods in person at the Brentwood and Century City farmers markets and through online pre-orders for market pickup. By buying our pastries you accept the following:
- Allergens. Our pastries are made in a kitchen that handles wheat, eggs, dairy, butter, almonds, hazelnuts, and other tree nuts. Even items not made with these ingredients may contain trace amounts. If you have a serious allergy, please ask us before you buy. We cannot guarantee an allergen-free product.
- Freshness. Pastries are best the day you buy them. Some items keep up to four days in an airtight container; ask us at the market.
- Online pre-orders. Orders are confirmed after successful payment. Choose an available pickup date at least seven days in advance. Dates and times use Los Angeles time. Pickup is at the selected market during the stated hours; online orders do not include delivery. If we cannot fulfil your order, we will refund it in full.
- No food advice. Nothing on this site is medical or nutritional advice. Calorie, carb, and ingredient details available on request.
Pricing & payment
Posted prices apply on the day of sale and may change without notice. Sales tax is collected where required by California law. At the market we accept cash, debit, and major cards. We do not save card details. Online payments are processed by Square. You can review the order total, including applicable tax, before paying. At the market, payment is handled by our card processor at the table.
Pickup, cancellations & refunds
Cancelling an online order. Email [email protected] with your order reference. Cancellation requests received within 24 hours after you place the order receive a full refund. The time your email is received determines whether you meet this deadline.
After the first 24 hours, we review cancellation requests individually. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we may deduct the reasonable value of work already completed for your order and costs already incurred that cannot be recovered. This includes preparation, baking, decorating and packing time spent by our owners or staff, as well as ingredients, packaging, custom materials and non-refundable third-party charges attributable to your order. Labor is calculated using the time reasonably spent on your order at a commercially reasonable rate for the work performed.
We take account of costs saved and amounts recovered through reuse, resale or supplier refunds, without charging twice for the same loss. Deductions will not exceed the amount you paid, and we refund any remaining balance. Depending on the work completed and unrecoverable costs, the remaining refund may be reduced to zero. These deductions apply to customer-requested cancellations after the first 24 hours; the protections below for seller cancellations and incorrect or defective items still apply.
Your pickup window. Each order is reserved for collection only at the market, on the date and during the hours shown in your order confirmation. All pickup times use Los Angeles time. An order is not an open-ended reservation and does not automatically carry over to another market day. If you are running late or need a change, contact us before your pickup window ends. Any alternative arrangement requires our written confirmation and is subject to availability.
Uncollected orders. If your order was correctly prepared and available throughout the agreed pickup window, missing that window does not entitle you to a later pickup, a newly prepared replacement, a transfer to another date or store credit. Because our pastries are perishable, we do not undertake to store or keep uncollected items after that window. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we do not offer a refund solely because you did not collect your order. This does not limit the rights and remedies described below.
If something goes wrong. If we cancel or cannot fulfil your order, we refund it in full. For an incorrect, missing, defective, spoiled or misdescribed item, contact us promptly with your order reference so we can refund the affected item or arrange a replacement if you prefer. Photos can help us understand the issue. These policies, including the missed-pickup policy, do not limit rights or remedies provided by applicable law.
Approved card refunds are returned through Square to the original payment method. Your bank determines when the credit appears. Returned food is never offered for resale.
Office treats & corporate gifts
Requests through Belvedere Cookies for Business are inquiries for a quote. Submitting the form does not place an order or reserve a date.
- Confirming your order. Pastry selection, quantities, presentation, availability, price, payment arrangements, and pickup or delivery details are agreed with you before the order is confirmed. Local delivery coverage, timing, and any fee are confirmed in your quote.
- Planning ahead. Please allow at least one week. Larger orders or busy dates may require additional notice. Requested dates are subject to confirmation.
- Recipient details. Only share recipient information you are authorised to provide. Let us know about ingredient or allergy questions before ordering; the allergen information above applies to corporate orders too.
- Changes or cancellations. Contact us by email. Any order-specific arrangements will be shared before confirmation. Nothing in those arrangements limits rights or remedies provided by applicable law.
Brand & content
The Belvedere Cookies name, logo, photography, recipes, and written content on this site are our property or used with permission. You may share links and short quotes with credit. You may not reproduce the logo, photos, or substantial text without our written permission. Recipes shared in the newsletter are for personal home use; please do not republish them commercially without asking.
Third-party links
The site may link to third-party websites (maps, social media, payment partners). We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or policies.
No warranty
The site and its content are provided "as is", to the maximum extent allowed by California law. We do our best to keep the site accurate and available, but we do not promise it will be error-free, complete, or always reachable. The pastries themselves are sold with the food-safety warranties required by California's Sherman Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Law and the federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, and no broader warranty is given.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for anything connected with this site or with a single transaction is limited to the amount you paid us for the pastries in that transaction (or, if no purchase was made, twenty US dollars). We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages. This limit does not apply where California law forbids it. For example, fraud, gross negligence, or personal injury caused by a defective product.
Indemnity
You agree to hold us harmless from any third-party claim arising out of your misuse of the site, your breach of these terms, or your infringement of someone else's rights.
Force majeure
We are not responsible for delays or non-performance caused by events outside our reasonable control: fire, flood, power outage, supply-chain disruption, pandemic, labour action, government order, or similar.
Governing law & disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California. You and we waive any objection to that venue. Nothing in these terms prevents either party from seeking small-claims-court relief.
Changes
If we change anything material we will update the "last updated" date and, where appropriate, mention it in the newsletter. Continued use of the site means you accept the latest version.
