Accessibility Statement.

We want everyone to be able to read about, find, and buy our pastries, without barriers. Last updated 24 May 2026.

Our commitment

Belvedere Cookies is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of ability or technology. We aim to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, the standard referenced by Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 508, and California's Unruh Civil Rights Act.

What we have done

  • Semantic structure. Headings, lists, landmarks (header, main, nav, footer, article, aside) are used so screen readers can navigate.
  • Image alternative text. Every meaningful image has a written alt description.
  • Colour contrast. Body and headline text meet at least 4.5:1 contrast against background.
  • Keyboard navigation. All links, buttons, and form fields are reachable and operable with the keyboard alone, in a logical tab order.
  • Form labels. Every input has a visible label and an accessible name; errors are surfaced via aria-live regions.
  • Reduced motion. The site avoids autoplay, parallax, and aggressive animations.
  • Responsive design. Layout works at 320 px wide and zooms to 200 % without loss of content.
  • Language declared. The lang="en" attribute helps assistive tech pronounce content correctly.

Known limitations

We test the site regularly but it is not perfect. Known issues we are working on:

  • Some decorative photographs have short alt text rather than full descriptive captions.
  • The Cloudflare Turnstile captcha widget is a third-party component; its keyboard support is generally good but not under our direct control.
  • Embedded Google Maps links open external sites whose accessibility we cannot guarantee.

Compatible technologies

The site is designed to be compatible with current versions of:

  • Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox on desktop.
  • Safari and Chrome on iOS and Android.
  • NVDA and JAWS on Windows; VoiceOver on macOS and iOS; TalkBack on Android.

Browsers more than two major versions old may render the site differently.

Tell us if something is broken

If any part of the site is hard to use because of a disability, please let us know and we will try to fix it within a reasonable time. The fastest way to reach us:

  • Email [email protected] with a description of the problem, the page address, and the device and assistive technology you were using.
  • Or use the contact form on the homepage.

We aim to respond within 5 business days. If the issue is urgent we will offer an alternative way to get the same information. For example, we can reply with the content of the page in email.

Enforcement

This statement is a good-faith effort. If you believe we are not meeting our obligations under the ADA, Unruh Civil Rights Act, California's Disabled Persons Act, or California Government Code §11135, you may also contact the U.S. Department of Justice or the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing.
